The PMG motor from Faurndau is a robust, almost maintenance free, variable speed three phase synchronous motor, excited by permanent magnets on the rotor. The motor construction consists of a cast housing and two endshields with integrated mounting feet, Standard design has the external fan mounted on top of the non-drive endshield with the air outlet on the drive side endshield. The terminal box is mounted on the non-drive endshield and can be either on the left or right side. With an adapted inverter we can obtain an optimised drive with alternative speed, torque or position control loop.

Advantages of the PMG drive:

• High overall efficiency (over 92% motor with inverter)
  
• Favourable power density of the motor due to small rotor losses and therefore small construction size in comparison to standard drives
  
• Very good dynamic behaviour due to a smaller mass moment of inertia and fast reaction of power electronics
  
• Brushless and therefore almost maintenance free

PM MOTORS can be modified to suit the technical requirements for your application. Alternative designs can be for example:

• PM engines with special housing for particularly high demands
